The outerwear company is on a mission to make sure people are never cold again using their patented NASA-inspired Solarcore technology
PORTLAND, OR / ACCESSWIRE / March 10, 2020 / OROS, the company creating the outerwear of the future by bringing space technology to Earth, is launching a Kickstarter campaign for three new and updated outerwear items: a parka, a pullover, and a hoodie jacket.
Instead of the bulky layers typically associated with the warmest outerwear, OROS’ new Kickstarter features streamlined silhouettes that are as stylish and light as your favorite athletic clothes, but also keep you warm in well-below freezing temperatures. Started by two college science geeks, an astronaut scholarship and an idea, OROS developed its patented Solarcore technology to make sure that the cold doesn’t hold anyone back.
OROS New Kickstarter Outerwear
“When you plan to go outside and brave the elements, you shouldn’t have to worry if you have the right protection or enough layers. We believe your outerwear should be the easiest part of your adventure,” said Michael Markesbery, Co-founder and CEO, OROS. “That’s why we created OROS. Forget the puffy gear that still leaves you cold. We now have a better way to enjoy the journey–by using the most effective insulation in the universe, the same technology used by NASA in the -455 F vacuum of space. In fact, we tested our Solarcore insulation against more than 250 other insulating materials. We have yet to find anything warmer.”
With the Kickstarter campaign, OROS is introducing a new generation of the top selling jacket, the Orion Parka; as well as two new apparel must-haves, the Astra pullover (women’s) and Atmos Jacket (men’s).
- Orion Parka (men’s and women’s jackets): The 2020 Orion Parka is meant for the harshest conditions and has been tested all over the globe. It is fully lined with Solarcore insulation to keep you comfortable down to -40 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Astra Pullover (designed for women): The new and stylish Astra pullover allows you to easily go from the indoors to out, staying warm but looking cool. Featuring an insulated, oversized collar, the pullover provides strategic placement of Solarcore to make this attractive, urban shell a great choice to be protected on the go.
- Atmos Jacket (designed for men): The new Atmos Jacket features a scuba-style hood, zippered chest pocket and two zippered hand pockets. Packed with NASA technology, the Atmos is incredibly versatile and comfortable like your favorite hoodie – the warmest hoodie you’ll ever own.
OROS’ unique technology was inspired by NASA’s aerogel, which has been used to protect the Mars Rover and astronauts deep in space and is the most effective insulation ever created. The OROS team worked closely with NASA scientists and conducted countless experiments to transform the space material into a warm, breathable and incredibly thin insulation dubbed Solarcore. From exploring the cold avenues of New York to the icy fields of Antarctica, wearing OROS outerwear protects people against every element so they can get more out of their adventures.
